Lemon. Sugar. Like my old mum used to make on pancake day. Anything else just doesn’t do it.

The nicest pancake filling I ever had was in Barbados and consisted of sous vide Scottish river-run salmon, Maldon sea-salt, smoked samphire, dill, parsley, thinly sliced shallots, langoustine cooked in its own juices, a touch of lemon zest and Beluga caviar*
*none of this is true of course but these threads seem to be all about how fucking brilliant and refined you are and how much money you've got without actually saying 'I've got fucking loads of money'. Added fact, I've never been to Barbados either.

had a Toulouse sausage and mustard crepe with Breton cider followed by salted caramel & toasted almond crepe for after, with Breton cider.

Best one I had was in France , 1979...The year Funky Town came out (as that’s about the only song that was played non fucking stop wherever we went).
Minced beef, cheese and egg!, As a 12 year old, the idea of a pancake that wasn’t either jam or lemon and sugar didn’t exist until i went to France.
Still remember the taste now, awesome..

Possibly the best ever pancake I had was in Belgrade. Crushed up digestives, nutella and sliced banana inside with some sort of dark chocolate drizzle on the outside. Sublime.
